With SCREEN FOREVER just a week away, Screen Producers Australia (SPA) today announced the details of their final exciting international guest - Kelly Wright- SVP Distribution and New Business at Keshet International (KI).
A leading global content producer and distributor, KI has a network of seven production companies and distribution hubs in London, Germany, Hong Kong and the US. Beyond developing and producing original content within this network, KI offers acquired content from its global partners as well as Keshet 12 in Israel and the KI Content Fund.
At KI, Wright plays an integral role in driving the company’s distribution strategy and expanding its operations across each region, including establishing offices in Hong Kong, Mexico City, and Mumbai.
She oversees an eclectic catalogue that includes premium drama series such as BBC One’s The Trial of Christine Keeler and The A Word, HBO’s Our Boys and Prisoners of War and Telemundo's Prisoner No. 1 (which she also executive produces), as well as non-scripted titles such as ITV2’s Singletown, BOOM!, Deal With It and Master Class. Wright is also involved in Australian projects such as ABC's Total Control and Network Seven's Secret Bridesmaids' Business.
At SCREEN FOREVER, Wright will take a deep dive into HBO’s gripping and highly controversial new drama Our Boys, based on the true story of the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers and the killing of a young Palestinian that followed. The series is a rare example of HBO commissioning foreign-language content - especially in Hebrew – and serves as a case study of courting controversy both at home and abroad (the series caused such backlash amongst the conservative Israeli community that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu even calling for a boycott of the series and KI).
Moreover, Wright will use the session to delve into KI’s plans for acquiring and developing content in Australia.
