Mere days after launching its star-studded program, Screen Producers Australia (SPA) today announced an additional high-profile international guest will be travelling to Melbourne this November to share their insights on ‘storytelling in a time of evolution’.

Renowned motion picture, television and Broadway producer, Jason Taylor, is best known for his work on Hollywood blockbusters, most notably X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days Of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse, yet he has also had great success in the independent space, including producing the British thriller U Want Me 2 Kill Him? and Netflix favourite The Taking of Deborah Logan.

Solidifying the broad church of speculative fiction, Taylor has taken big and bold sci-fi stories to the small screen with award-winning digital series H+ for YouTube and Warner Brothers, and television documentary projects Look Up In The Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman and The Valkyrie Legacy, which tied into the releases of Superman Returns and Valkyrie respectively.

Taylor is currently producing 2067 for Futurism Studios, alongside Australian producers Lisa Shaunessy (Arcadia) and Kate Croser (formerly, Kojo Entertainment and current SAFC CEO). Directed by Seth Larney and starring Ryan Kwanten and Deborah Mailman, the sci-fi mystery thriller filmed in Adelaide follows one man's journey to the future to save a dying world.

Drawing on his extensive experience in the sector, Taylor will take part in the ‘What If…? The creativity, craft, and commerce of science fiction on screen’ panel at SCREEN FOREVER on Thursday, 14 November. This in-depth session will talk all things genre, from tent-pole franchises, to indie features, high-end episodic dramas and bold original web-series, including a discussion of the market potential of such stories and the creative process.

Taylor will also take part in a debate on the pros and cons of the global content boom during the Creative Content sponsored session ‘The Potential of Limitless Content’ on Wednesday, 13 November alongside Jonathan Olsberg (Founder, Olsberg SPI), Moreyba Bidessie (Director of Scripted Development and Sales of International Content Sales & Co-productions, A&E Networks), Debra Richards (Director of Production Policy APAC, Netflix) and Jeffrey Finkelstein (Partner, Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein & Lezcano).

Limited Gold Passes for SCREEN FOREVER (12 - 14 November) are still available. Secure yours here.
