Today while introducing the Hector Crawford Memorial Lecture at SCREEN FOREVER, Screen Producers Australia (SPA) CEO Matthew Deaner announced a new industry partnership with flagship Australian airline Qantas.

The partnership will entitle SPA members to a generous 69kgs of checked baggage for passengers flying economy on domestic flights, with Frequent Flyer members and business class customers entitled to an additional allowance.

Deaner said: “There is a great synergy between Qantas – the spirit of Australia – and our members, who help take Australian stories to the world. Under this new deal producers are empowered to visit more locations and with more equipment than ever before, aiding in the creating of great Australian screen content, and the deal will prove particularly beneficial for our rural and regional members.”

Deaner also thanked SCREEN FOREVER's official travel partner TAG for their integral role in helping to secure the deal.

The partnership is just the latest draw card of becoming a SPA member with Virgin also announced a Film Industry Baggage Allowance for members in July of last year.

The full details of the allowance are available here.
