In the post-#MeToo age, Hollywood’s established power structures have begun to crumble, ushering in a new era of transparency, a demand for the re-alignment of values and the rise of new opportunities for diversity and inclusion. But how are these changes actually impacting the day-to-day operations of global production businesses?

Charlotte Koh is Head of Digital and Unscripted at Hello Sunshine, the media powerhouse founded by Reece Witherspoon that shines a light on female authorship and agency. Hello Sunshine’s mission isn’t about fighting for a seat at the table; it’s about creating a new one.

Charlotte manages six teams across the company encompassing the creation and discovery of content that focuses on strong, but complex, female characters from film and television productions to short-form videos, Reese’s Book Club, podcasts and Audible Originals, which are then distributed across a variety of channels including SVOD services, podcast platforms and social media.

Following the success of high-profile production Big Little Lies, Hello Sunshine has several television projects due for release including Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere and Apple TV+’s Are You Sleeping, as well as a number of films, including Legally Blonde 3 and a slate of features being developed from Reese’s Book Club picks, like Where the Crawdads Sing and Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine.

Charlotte will appear ‘in conversation’ at SCREEN FOREVER 2019 as part of ‘Triple Threat’ – a specially curated stream of sessions dedicated to female fronted production companies creating opportunities for and by women, and female game changers bringing new and distinctive voices to our screens.
