Meet our first wave of international speakers

Meet our first wave of international speakers

This year’s event aims to illuminate, inspire and connect content makers from the worlds of feature film, television, factual, younger audience content and documentary, as well as exploring the need to diversify by showcasing the latest from immersive and interactive media, podcasts and beyond.

Younger audience content will be a strong focus for the conference, with a dedicated stream shining a light on great local content, sharing exciting developments overseas and delving deep into the psychology behind what makes kids and family content successful.

Another program highlight from the land of factual content is BAFTA and PGA nominated documentary producer and director, Becky Read (Three Identical StrangersRICO, Life and Death in Chicago). Becky will take part in 'The Tricky Business of Ethics' stream - an exploration of the parameters of ethically ambiguous situations in documentary, reality television and immersive technologies that occur both on and off screen.

Charlotte Koh, the Head of Digital and Unscripted at Reece Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine, will also be in attendance as part of ‘Triple Threat’ – a specially curated stream of sessions dedicated to female fronted production companies creating opportunities for and by women, and female game changers bringing new and distinctive voices to our screens. Hello Sunshine’s mission isn’t about fighting for a seat at the table; it’s about creating a new one.

The final speaker announced today was Dan Jinks, the Academy Award-winning feature film, television and Broadway producer of American BeautyMilkBig FishNothing to Lose and Pushing Daisies. Dan will speak as part of 'On the Shoulders of Giants' - a collection of sessions that celebrate the achievements of the trailblazers who have gone before us and help us to acquire the skills and knowledge to build our future as a great storytelling nation.

Registration is now open with Early Bird pricing available until Friday, 16 August 2019. Secure your pass here.
